What does the Directive on corporate communication on sustainability talk about? In essence, the directive asks for two things: Obligation for certification of the information communicated on sustainability by an accredited independent auditor or certifier. Better accessibility of information: requires its communication in a specific section of company management reports in the areas of environmental rights, social rights, human rights and governance factors. At point 2 , the people dedicated to sustainability communication come into play . But be careful: we must do this not to respond to a legal obligation but to transform this obligation into an opportunity . In this way we will create added value which will have positive effects on the company brand. 1 January 2024 for com Bosnia and Herzegovina WhatsApp Number panies already subject to the Directive on the disclosure of non-financial information (listed companies with more than 500 employees). 1 January 2025 for large companies currently not subject to the Directive on the disclosure of non-financial information (above 250 employees). 1 January 2026 for listed SMEs with a possible exemption from the application of the Directive until 2028. Why does the European Union want to regulate sustainability communication? First of all to fill the gaps in the current rules on disclosure of non-financial information of 2014. Often the information provided by companies is not of sufficient quality to allow investors to take it into account. This is obviously an obstacle to the transition to a sustainable economy .
